Classic Grilled Steak
Room temperature steak slices.
Marinate with a liberal sprinkling of freshly ground salt and fresh black pepper as well as olive oil.
I placed my steak on a pan and marinated each side thoroughly.
You need a good amount of S&P as that gives your steaks flavour as well as a good ‘crust’
Heat your griddle pan until it’s really hot.
Sear the pieces on each side.
Thereafter allow to cook for 3 minutes on each side.
Remove from the pan and place on to a plate, cover with foil.
Continue until all your steaks are cooked.
You will be left with a thick crust of black in your pan, add 1/2 cup of water into the pan along with a big blob of your herbed butter and a dash of lemon juice.
You will be left with a flavourful jus.
Serve the jus poured over your steaks along with a blob of the herbed butter.
Herbed butter :
Some good quality whole grain mustard
Some crushed garlic
Mix together and place into a bowl.
Serve with a green salad and chips.
Can be served with a barbecue sauce of your choice but we don’t find the need.
