Substituting Coconut Oil for Butter


Tonight my neighbor sent over a plate of doughnuts, well, you know what happens then..!!! The kids, and us, tend to want more 😉 So out came the Safeway doughnut maker which I recently bought and reviewed.

The first time I used it, I followed the recipe which is provided. This time, I did the same except I decided to do a small substitute for the butter as I felt that the last time the doughnuts were slightly too buttery in taste and texture.

So all I did was substitute 125g coconut oil , for the 125g butter. The result..? Fluffy, lighter, crisp and overall much nicer doughnuts.
