Sour Cream Dough Pides & Patha Moons

A light and flaky dough that is quick and easy to prepare. Once baked, these items can be frozen and used as required.



Sour Cream Dough Pides & Patha Moons


3 cups flour

Pinch of salt

1 tsp Baking powder

1 cup coconut oil

250ml creme fraiche/ sour cream

Mix all the ingredients lightly till a dough forms. Place on the fridge to rest.

For pides:

Roll in to an oval, shape in to pide, put a thin layer of pizza sauce or chutney, top with chicken filling and cheese.

Bake at 200 deg C till lightly browned.

For patha moons:

Roll dough, cut in to circles.

Place a tsp of filling.

Fold in to a half moon.

Brush with egg and bake at 200 deg C for 10-15 mins.

Patha filling:

Heat olive oil in a pan, add 1 cup chopped patha with 1 tsp crushed garlic and 1 tsp brown sugar. Stir fry. Cool then add 1 tbls mayonnaise and 1 tbsl red chutney.
