Cereals, porridge and other foods aren’t my thing for breakfast. Having had bowls of cereal growing up, these days all I manage is my morning coffee. Sometimes, on some rare occasions, a little later in the morning, I might have an egg or smoothie.
I always enjoy smoothies for the ease in making it, how filling it is and more so for how much healthiness can be put into a single glass.
Frozen berries and bananas are always stocked in my freezer making it easy to have a lovely cooling smoothie without using ice cubes.
For today’s smoothie, I was craving a less fruity mix and so I whipped up a peanut butter and banana smoothie. Wanting an addition of nuts, I cheated by using Nutella instead since it’s packed with hazelnuts right :-p
Peanut butter & Nutella banana smoothie
1 heaped tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 tbls Nutella
1 banana – fresh or frozen
2 tbls full cream Greek yoghurt
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence / powder
A few ice cubes
Place all the above into a smoothie maker or jug if using a hand blender.
Whizz till smooth.
Pour into a glass.
* if using a frozen banana the ice cubes can be omitted for less risk of brain freeze 😉
