For breakfast this morning I was craving something sweet and decadent. I had a batch off fresh farm eggs from Gardees Fresh Cut Chicken suppliers (whom I buy my fillets and cut chickens from) which I had wanted to try, as well as a lovely baguette which I knew would make lovely french toasts. That settled things, cinnamon French toasts it would be.
This always makes a lovely addition to breakfast and are quite quick and easy to whip up. I usually serve it with fresh berries, along with mascarpone cheese, or whipped cream as well as pure maple syrup to dip in.
So, here’s how I do things.
~ Slice baguette and set aside ( bread slices can be used )
~ Add 2 eggs to a shallow bowl.
~ Add in a 1/4 cup of milk ( cream if you’re feeling really decadent )
~ 1 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder
~ a tsp of vanilla essence.
~ a tsp of sugar
Whisk till combined.
Heat a frying pan on a gentle heat, add in some butter.
Dip the baguette slices into the egg mixture, place into the pan and fry till golden.
Serve with fresh seasons berries, whipped cream or mascarpone cheese and pure maple syrup to dip into.
Easy peasy and oh so tasty. Give it a try and let me know what you think 🙂
